Mozambique Project

In partnership with the marine sanctuary « Mulala Marine Sanctuary » within the bay of Nacala.

A sanctuary entirely dedicated to the protection of the ocean in a MPA – Marine Protected Area.

These reefs are crucial to the marine biodiversity, to the local population, providing protection from storms, food resources, and important cultural values.

Adopt a Coral fragment in Mozambique

Coral reefs are home to over 25% of marine life, making them one of the richest and most essential ecosystems in the ocean. As true guardians of biodiversity, they serve as a nursery, refuge and food source for many marine organisms.

But their role goes far beyond that: they form a natural barrier against waves, reduce coastal erosion and thus protect coastlines.

However, since 2009, 20% of corals have disappeared, victims of bleaching linked to climate change. According to the IPCC, a warming of 1.5°C could wipe out up to 90% of coral reefs.

The disappearance of corals would have dramatic consequences, both for the environment and for local economies and communities.

Aware of the urgency, The Coral Planters is actively committed to preserving these marine jewels, limiting the impact of climate change to protect our oceans and their precious ecosystems.
